U SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP - SEMIS + CONSOLATION

WATERLOO IS PLAYING FOR THE NATIONAL TITLE; the Gaiters defeat the Blues to secure the second spot in the championship game; It's an all-west competition in the 5th place match

The excitement around women’s hockey in Woolwich continues to rise as Waterloo defeated Concordia 5-1 to earn a spot in the national title game. In the other semi final, Bishop’s University took down the number two team in the nation meaning the Gaiters will face-off against the Warriors in the championship. Both the University of Waterloo and Bishop’s University are playing in the final for the first time. Neither program has won a national title.

In the consolation games, Alberta shut out St. FX and UBC defeated the other AUS team, UNB, to advance to the 5th place game. The Pandas and the Thunderbirds are both Can-West schools and have some experience playing against each other. It will be a familiar battle for the top-five spot in the country.
